HALE PRACTICE GUIDELINES

Arrive 10 minutes earlier, not on time. Give yourself some breathing room to settle in and prepare for the start of class.

Silence will be appreciated within the practice room. Conversations may take place outside as the practice room is a place for students to meditate, self-practice and relax.

Our studio is your sanctuary as much as it is ours. Keep the studio as clean as your own home be respectful to our staff and instructors.

Please make sure your mobile phone is on Silent Mode if you are bringing it into the practice room, be considerate to others. Yoga is the union of your mind and body. Keep your mobile phone in the locker before class commences to enjoy the class to the fullest.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I wear for my first yoga class?

For ladies, it will be advisable to dress in a pair of leggings and a tank top. For those who are taking Aerial classes, please do wear a sleeved top to minimise abrasions. Tie your hair into a ponytail or bun it up to keep hair away from your face.

For gentlemen, do wear a tank top or a fitted t-shirt and knee length activewear. Fitted clothing will be better for teachers to notice and adjust your alignment as compared to wearing loose clothing.

Does the studio come with shower facilities?

Yes, we do have shower facilities. We offer towel rental at SGD$1 each. Shampoo and shower gel are provided in all shower cubicles.

Is it advisable to have a meal before class?

Yes! Light snack at least 1 hour before class starts, especially if you have low blood pressure or sugar and it is advisable to have heavy meal at least 2.5 hours in advance. Please do not come to class with a hungry stomach as it will affect your energy during class.

I am new to yoga, what classes do you suggest I should take?

We do have classes that suit beginners best.

Beginners friendly classes:

  • Aerial Vinyasa
  • Hatha
  • Gentle Flow
  • Yin Yang

You may try out other classes if you want to, as all of our classes cater to all levels. There will be variations for both beginners and regulars. We understand that everyone practises at their own pace. We recommend at least 2 classes a week for consistent practice.

How many classes should I take per week?

2 to 4 classes a week will be good for consistent practice.

Will Aerial Yoga be too advance for a beginner?

Our Aerial Stretch, Aerial Silk Stretch, Aerial Vinyasa and Aerial Silk Hatha are cater to all levels. Do give it a try and judge for yourself.

*For those who are new to aerial yoga or new to our studio, we would recommend you to do a minimum of 4 to 16 Aerial Vinyasa and Aerial Silk Hatha classes before trying out Aerial Silk Hatha 2 (Intermediate & Above).

I am 1 month pregnant. Will pre-natal yoga be suitable for me at this stage?

Please do consult your doctor if it is ok for you to take up pre-natal yoga. It is advisable to get clearance from your doctor prior to engaging any physical activities.

Can I join group classes if I’m pregnant?

Our group classes are not prenatal friendly. Hale Yoga Studio does not accept pregnant ladies in our group classes for the safety of future mummies. We would rather not risk it for the individual in a group setup as every pregnancy is unique. Please contact the studio for private classes. We will be sad to turn you away from classes that are not suitable for you.

Hale Yoga reserves the right to revise our studio policies and T&Cs from time to time without notice. Enforcement of these policies and T&Cs at our absolute discretion is final and binding.

STUDIO POLICY

BOOKINGS

1. Online bookings are opened 6 days prior to class commence day. Students are encouraged to book early to reserve a class slot especially Aerial classes. Our bookings for the class are released at 12:01am 6 days in advance. Towards the end of the day, classes will start getting filled up. If you have a problem with bookings, you can opt for advance booking and WhatsApp 85229750 for booking which the front desk will confirm with you if you would like to proceed. Do note that for advance booking, NO cancellation or amendment will be allowed for all front desk booking. Otherwise, we will recommend you to book 6 days prior to class when the booking window is opened for aerial yoga. Walk-in students are encouraged to give the studio a call to check for class availability. You are still able to walk in based on availability.

2. Class cancellation has to be made online at least 12 hours BEFORE class commences. All email and WhatsApp text requests for class cancellation will NOT be accepted. You are strongly recommended to cancel your class booking 12 hours or the day before online through our website HERE or Mindbody App by logging into your account. Instruction on how to cancel your class through our website is HERE.

Failure to do so will be considered as class taken with the exception of Medical Certification, doctor’s letter, or police report being provided. All sicknesses including menstrual cramps and migraine without official documentation will NOT be accepted as a valid reason for last-minute class cancellation. No Show, late and had been denied entry will be considered as class taken for paid booking.

3. First-timer to make payment online upon their first booking to secure their slot and arrive 15 – 30 mins in advance before the first class to complete registration. All payment has to be made in order to secure a booking. 

4. Students may be rejected into the class if late, and class credit will be forfeited. Do note that permission to enter will be at the instructor’s discretion even if 1 minute late the moment class starts. Studio reserved the right to reject students’ late entry. In the situation of a fully booked class, your booked slot will be given to walk-in students if you are late. Please arrive at least 10 mins prior to the class start time.

Late entry is strictly at instructors’ discretion. You might be rejected the moment class starts. Instructor will provide you with the best possible care and to reject you from class when they deemed it’s unsafe for you to participate. To prevent any possible misunderstanding with each individual instructors’ late buffer, please show up prior to class start time. Practice room will be locked once late entry is no longer accepted. You will be turn away without any interaction with the instructor. The instructor would not be able to stop class to explain to you why you are rejected as it will be distracting for the ongoing class.

Door lock = Cannot do class.
Solution = Come prior to class start time.

 

5. There will be auto-email reminders sent in advance if you have opted into our email list prior to package expiration. However, our automatic emails and WhatsApp text only serve as a goodwill intention for notice. All automated emails and WhatsApp text reminder, whether a student receives them or not, is not grounds for foul play for online booking. There will NOT be any return of class credit(s) when one does not receive an automated email or any WhatsApp text.

If you have opted in to receive our automated email notification, an email will be delivered to your mailbox upon booking (it may be in the spam or junk folder). If you had booked a class at least 4 days prior to class start time, you will receive an automated email reminder. However, you may not receive an email reminder if you booked close to the class start date. You can choose to set your own preference on the class booking email reminder. You will need to double-check your own booking online schedule via the Mindbody app or website to prevent any possible confusion regarding your own class bookings.

6. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Hale Yoga Studio reserves the right to cancel, change the class types and instructor. *In the event of classes canceled by Hale, class credits will be returned to your package with an extension of your package validity of 7 days.

7. Public holidays (PH) are taken into account in all packages, challenges, and membership validity periods. There might be slight changes to our schedules during PH’s eves and PH.

WAITLIST

1. Waitlist Booking

When you made a class booking under Waitlist, it means that your booking are on a queue to enroll the class. Your booking will be confirmed when there is cancellation from student who has successfully booked for the class. Your confirmation will depend on the queue with first come first serve basis.

2. Waitlist Cancellation

Our class booking cancellation period is 12 hours. Please cancel your class booking 12 hours prior to class start if you are no longer able to attend the class, regardless if you are on a Waitlist. Otherwise you may risk getting your class credit deducted if you missed the confirmation email or forget about the booking.

3. Waitlist to Enrolment Confirmation

Our booking system will enroll students on Waitlist into the class automatically whenever there is cancellation 12 hours before class starts. You should receive an email confirmation of your enrolment into the class officially. Meanwhile you are also able to see that you are no longer on “Waitlist” after you have logged into your account below your name under your personal schedule. Our front desk may or may not WhatsApp you on your Waitlist confirmation. We strongly suggest students to keep track on your own booking, especially Waitlist. Please make sure you are opt-in to our system email listing so you can keep track of your Waitlist enrolment easily.

4. Waitlist Unsuccessful Enrolment

Our booking system will lock the Waitlist exactly at 12 hours before the class start, which means from that point onwards the system will no longer enrol students on Waitlist into the class automatically. Only successful enrolment will receive confirmation by email. Rest assured that your class credit will not be deducted if you are still under Waitlist within the 12 hours cancellation period prior to class start.

5. Waitlist Last Minute Enrolment

In the event when there is last minute Late Cancel from the students who have booked the class successfully, and you are still under the Waitlist, our receptionist will try to text you at least 2 hours before class start to check if you are interested to come for the class, without obligation. Rest assured no class credit will be deduct if you reject our offer at this point.

It is highly recommended to book for class as early as you can to secure a mat. Note that our booking window is opened 6 days prior to class.

FACILITIES

1. Shower facilites is available at Somerset Branch only. Note: If you are attending the final class of the day, the studio will be closed 30 mins after the class ends for cleaning/inspection.

2. Changing Room –

Tanjong Pagar Branch: Please change in the cubicles instead of the toilet, as we only have 1 toilet. Alternatively, please reach the studio earlier before class to change in the toilet.

Somerset Branch: We have 2 changing rooms available. Do change inside the 2 changing rooms as there are CCTV at work around common areas.

3. Belongings have to keep in lockers which come with keys. Hale will not be responsible for any lost items. No bags are allowed in the practice room. Only water bottle, sweat towel and phone on silent mode is allowed into class. No usage of the phone once class starts. Hale is will not be responsible for any damage of personal belongings. (ie Hale is will not be responsible if one had accidentally stepped on your glasses when you lay them on the floor. You are encouraged to be attentive to your own belongings.

4. Place your footwear on the shoe rack upon arrival. Do not lay your shoes on the floor. It might go missing. Students might wear the wrong shoe home. If you own a widely common shoe like Havanas slippers, you are encouraged to place it at a spot on the shoe rack that is away from the other same looking shoe.

ETIQUETTE

1. No photo or video taking allowed in class unless permission is given by the instructor. You can take photos or videos only with instructors’ permission. Please check out our studio rental rates for your professional photo shoot session.

2. Please keep yourself body odour free.

3. Students will be made to exit class for rowdy, inconsiderate or unpleasant behaviour towards staff and students.

4. Proper attire is needed in class, i.e., see-through outfits are not allowed) Students might be rejected into class for inappropriate attire.

For non-aerial classes, please wear clothing that allows freedom of movement. Fitted clothes are preferred over loose clothing. It allows the instructor to check on your alignments.

For aerial classes, crops and leggings are encouraged. Sleeved top is preferred. In the nutshell, you would like to be as tightly covered as you can. Clothes can prevent and reduce your skin from fabric burns and bruises.

No jewellery allowed in Aerial Silk classes. You will be asked to keep your jewellery in the lockers if you are spotted with one. Jewellery will cut the silk fabric and could become a potential safety hazard.

5. Hale reserved the right to turn away students who flouted the studio’s terms and conditions and class will be considered as taken.

PAYMENT

1. Hale offers instalment plans for more than $1000 with no transaction fees. There will be $15 transaction fee for amount less than $1000.

2. All payment are non-refundable.

3. Digital receipt for class pack purchase will be sent to your registered email. Physical receipts will be given upon request only. Let’s save the trees.

CONSENT FORM

Our minimum participation age is 12 year old. Under government regulation, if you are age between 12 to 17 year old you will need parents or guardian to sign consent form. You can download the indemnity form HERE and submit to us before your first class.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

PACKAGES

1. All purchases are non-refundable and non-sharing. Package is strictly non-sharing. Sharing of package once detected, all package credits will be forfeited without any refund.

2. The package will only be activated starting from your first class. However, unactivated packages will be activated automatically 24 months upon the date of purchase. (Example: You bought the package in Jan 2019, you will need to start the package by Jan 2021.)

3. Packages can be transferred to another person at an administration charge of $50, with the exception of 21 Days Challenge.

4. Every package comes with validity. Packages have to be completed within their validity period and are non-extendable. It’s the students’ own responsibility to keep track of their package validity. Package validity can only be extended if you have a doctor’s certification to prove that you are physically unfit, otherwise, validity will NOT be able to extend for work, travel, or personal matters. In the event of being unable to complete the package, you are able to bring over your remaining class credits into the validity of your new package, provided that you have purchased a new package before the current package expires.

5. All packages will not be able to be put on hold (ie. extension of validity). The only exception is only when doctor’s letter, medical certificate or relevant official documentation. You need need to attach your medical certificate, doctor’s letter or any relevant documents. Upon submission, we are only able to extend your package validity based on the letter’s recommendation. Upon submission, if there’s no indication of rest period in the letter, we are only able to extend your package validity up to a maximum of 1 month.

10 CLASSES 21 DAYS CHALLENGE

1. Challenge has to be completed in 21 days. Extension of validity only applies to hospitalisation leave with a medical certificate of fewer than 7 days. All terms and conditions apply.

2. $90 credits cashback can be used in full for regular packages and a maximum of $20 off a promotional package. Tip: To make the most out of your dollar, you can choose to buy our 50 class regular package [$(850-90)/50 = $15.20 per class]. Alternatively, in conjunction with our sale promotion, you can go for our 25 classes at $390 [$(390-20)/25 = $14.80 per class].

3. Unused cashback credits will be in your account for a maximum of 60 months (5 years) to be used for future purchases. The maximum amount of cashback credits allowed to store in your account is $90.

4. Challenge can be purchased repeatedly.

STARTER PACK

1. Valid for first-time purchase only, the first transaction at Hale Yoga Studio. Tip: Students who are interested in other packages are encouraged to buy both the starter pack and the package they are keen on their first purchase.

2. Non-sharing. Non-refundable. Non-extendable. Can be transferred to another person at an administration charge of $50.

3. If one faults the system by using multiple emails to register new accounts to purchase Starter Pack repeatedly note that all duplicate Starter Pack purchases of the same student will be voided with no refund.

STUDIO BOOKING & PRIVATE

1. Kindly note that for private booking, to reschedule, it has to be made minimum 7 days prior to the event at the cost of $35 administrative fees. Any changes (subject to studio availability) made after will incur a $85 penalty fees. Late cancellation or changes made less than 72 hours will result in full forfeit of the paid private class. If you have contracted covid, emergency with official documents, you are allowed to replace your private class to one class credit. This class credit is applicable to all group classes on our schedule.

2. Please be punctual. Late arrival will result in class time deduction and considered utilised. If you are late for more than 20 minutes, Hale Yoga reserve the right to cancel the session without any reimbursement.

3. In the event of an unforeseen circumstances, Hale Yoga reserved the right to change the instructor.

4. All private classes are fully paid via PayNow prior to booking. No refunds will be granted after the class has been scheduled.

PROMOTION

1. Sometimes we will have packages on sale. They are always the same. Just different names. Our prices won’t become cheaper and cheaper. So fret not! What’s more depressing than to know that you have bought a sale package yesterday only to find out it is cheaper today! It’s either we are on sale or not. We stick to that and love the way we are.

2. Sale frequency occurs about once every 2 months. Tip: If you are not financially tight and you are a consistent practitioner (doing 2-3 classes a week), you are encouraged to have one back up promotional package in your account.

MERCHANDISE & APPAREL

1. Products bought at Hale Yoga Studio are non-refundable. Please check the state of the item before leaving the studio.

COURSE

PRICE

8 hour course over the span of 8 weeks – SGD$260 per course

– 10% off if you have any active Package at the point of payment OR if you purchase 2 courses in the same term.

– 15% off if you have any active Package at the point of payment and purchase 2 courses OR if you purchase 3 courses in the same term. 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Strictly not refundable. Once payment is made, it is considered final. Please make sure that you are able to commit prior to payment.

2. If unable to attend after payment is made, students may nominate someone else as a replacement. Such replacement is allowed only before the course commences. No replacement is allowed during the course.

3. Once the course has commenced, no refund in cash or credit, rollover, prorate or transfer of any missed or unused class time or credits, without exception. This includes work schedules, previous or pre-existing medical conditions (including pregnancy), as well as personal emergencies.

4. If you develop a medical condition that prevents you from continuing with your purchased course(s), please email us with a doctor’s letter (TCM not accepted). We will review class credits based on the length and from the date of your doctor’s letter: 

Days from the course commencement date and covered by your doctor’s letter, for group classes credit return will be –

Any time up to 15 days – 6 class credits 

Day 16 to 304 class credits

Day 31 to 452 class credits

Day 45 onwards – 0 class credits

5. Class credits are valid for the mentioned course period (i.e. they need to be spent/utilised), after which they are considered expired.

6. For course, we accept payment via PayNow ONLY.

7. Your enrolment in course(es) is only confirmed once Hale Yoga Pte Ltd or Hale Yoga Studio has received full payment for your course(s). Online banking payments via PayNow (for those with Singapore-based bank accounts) need to be completed at the time of booking in order to secure your spot – payment delays may result in your course spot(s) being released.

8. We do not hold a waitlist for full/sold out courses. 

9. Students will be rejected into the class if he/she is late and class credit will be forfeited. Hale has NO grace period, buffer at max 2 to 3 minutes. Do note that permission to enter within the buffer period will be at the receptionist’s and instructor’s discretion, even if 1 minute late the moment class starts. Studio reserved the right to reject students’ late entry. 

10. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Hale Yoga reserves the right to cancel and change the instructor. *In the event of course cancelled by Hale, we will issue a refund based on the hours undertaken. (Aerial Spinning Course is an 8 hour course over the span of 8 weeks.)

11. Validity of your group classes will not be extended if you had purchased Hale courses. Instead, you will be given a discount on our course package.

COMPULSORY ATTIRE

1. A fitting, sleeved top that fully covers your shoulders, underarms and torso (no cap sleeves/sleeveless wear, loose tops that can ride up).

2. Full-length leggings or bottoms that are fitted and stretchy

3. No jewellery or accessories that will catch and tear the hammock fabric (rings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets, spiky/dangling piercings).
